Carol O’Connor! Carol and her clinical teaching assistants have done an awesome job teaching the nursing students cardiopulmonary function with pig hearts and lungs. They are all outstanding instructors who gave selflessly of their time to facilitate our student’s learning and made the lab a true “hands-on” experience.

Last weekend was the first time I’d ever gone to the Tech Fest barbecue, and I was impressed by several things. For one, it was far bigger than I had expected. Also, people greeted me from the time I stepped out of my car (many of whom I didn’t even know) to the time I was in line — very neighborly! Of course, the barbecue itself was terrific. More than anything, though, I must say I was impressed — really impressed — by the student musicians. What talent — our college’s talent. Bravo!

I would like to acknowledge someone: Mario Puentes in the custodial department. I have never met anyone with so much LSC-North Harris pride! He loves where he works! He has come to me requesting to see if we have any LSC-North Harris stickers for his car. I think he comes to every North Harris event that we host-after hours, on Saturdays…you name it and at all these events he is sporting his North Harris t-shirt. At the employee awards he showed his team spirit in cheering loudly and proudly to every employee’s name called from LSC-North Harris. He is truly the North Harris poster child! LOL
